Each year, America’s best-selling truck defies expectations. Whether it’s advanced systems, more comfort features, or increased strength, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 never ceases to impress. For 2021, the Silverado 1500 boasts innovative tech to make trailering simpler. Its powertrains are stronger, too, so you can tow greater loads.
New tailgate
Starting with the Multi-Flex Tailgate, the 2021 Silverado 1500 delivers greater functionality and access to the truck bed with six functions. It can bear the weight of 375 pounds and is operated via a key fob or with the controls mounted in the tailgate.
New trailering tech
Also new for 2021 are several trailering technologies designed to give you better views of your surroundings and help when attaching to the hitch. When changing lanes, the Trailer Length Indicator can reveal obstacles. The Rear Side View enhancement shows the left and right sides of your truck when you’re reversing. Additions to the Cargo Bed View — Cargo Bed Zoom View and Bed Hitch Guidance — give a clearer picture when you’re trying to connect a gooseneck/fifth-wheel trailer.
Greater capacities
When properly equipped, the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 can tow an extra 2,500 pounds with the 2.7-liter turbo engine under its hood. Powered by the 3.0-liter Duramax® turbo-diesel, it’s towing capacity increases by 1,900 pounds.
